The beach at Playa Ocotal offers more privacy than the main beaches of Playas del Coco to the north. It’s great for sunbathing and fun things to do at the beach, not to mention surfing and fishing charters.

Scuba diving is available here at the Ocotal Resort, one of our preferred propertys, and boats head out for the Bat Islands for some of the best deep water diving on the planet. Great fishing is also found at Ocotal. The Ocotal Resort has its own well maintained fishing fleet that constantly finds sailfish for first time bill-fishermen and women. It is about a twenty-minute drive from Coco to Ocotal, so count on either renting a car or spending a bundle on taxis if you intend to explore the many bars and night spots in Coco. But it is the area’s seclusion that makes it less crowded and hectic than the beaches to the north.
