“We specialize in fly fishing for billfish: Costa Rica marlin and sailfish,” says Wavedancer’s Captain Jesse Balleti. The big sailfish he’s grinning about in the photo to the right is typical of the thousands of sails and marlin anglers have brought to the boat in Jesse’s ten years of offshore fishing from Quepos on the mid-Pacific to Guanacaste on the north coast of this world class area for fishing trips.

Fly Fishing for Billfish.

“Our team specializes in fly fishing for the biggest, billfish in the sea,” says Wavedancer’s Captain Jesse Balleti. In 1999, he hooked the biggest blue marlin of the year off Quepos, a 1,200 pound monster that his client battled for six and a half hours on 50-pound test line. And one of the biggest black marlin of 2004 was caught and released offshore from Quepos on WaveDancer.

Wave Dancer boat is a 45-foot Jersey — completely refurbished in 2006 — with plenty of room for six anglers and a few non-fishing friends.
